Applying for a job is hard, and often times disappointing. Sometimes you feel overwhelmed looking at the number of applicants going after the job that you want, but don’t let that discourage you from applying. For us at Feet’s, we find that the best way to open the first door to being hired is by being PRESENT.
Here are some tips on how to be present when applying with us.
In your Application Form / Cover Letter – Intensify Intention
Identify the position and company that you are applying in into. Get your research mode ON. Tell a little bit about the company and relate to why you want to work there.
In your Resume – Be Specific
Highlight your strengths and your achievement. Rephrase them into actionable traits to make your reader know where to place you. Make them see your skill set matches the output that the position requires. This is because the hiring company wants to know what you can do for them.
In the meantime – Follow Up, Follow Up, Follow Up
Don’t be afraid to call the Hiring Manager and briefly state that you have applied for a position and was wondering about its hiring processes. You can also network via Social Media as all industry experts do. Be it in IG, FB, LinkedIn or Twitter, the post or message must be professional and relevant. This will make it easy for the decision-maker to imagine you filling up the position.
